Traffic to Dieting Websites up 32% Compared to Previous Year NEW YORK — With the New Year upon us, many Americans have turned to the Internet to help with the New Years resolution of losing weight. According to Hitwise, the worlds leading competitive intelligence service, the most searched for diet was the Hallelujah Diet for the week ending Dec. 29, 2007. Other top 10 searches that contained the term diet for last week, included popular diets such as the South Beach Diet and the Diabetic Diet (see chart on right). For the same week in 2006 and 2005, the South Beach Diet and the Atkins Diet owned the #1 and #2 spot, respectively. Other diet searches included the Special K Diet, Cabbage Soup Diet and the Detox Diet. “Searches for diets are one of the most predictable patterns on the Internet, with the high point always being the first of the year and the low-point being Thanksgiving week,” said Bill Tancer, general manager of global research, Hitwise. “If 2008 resolution searches follow the pattern set by previous years, diet searches should start plummeting in popularity by next week.” Traffic to the custom category of 30 Dieting websites was up 32 percent for the week ending Dec. 29, 2007, compared to the same week in 2006. WeightWatchers.com was the most visited website among the custom category of 30 Dieting websites for the week ending Dec. 29, 2007. GENEVA — Heat-trapping greenhouse gases in the atmosphere reached a record high in 2005 and are still increasing, the U.N. weather agency said. The measurements coordinated by the World Meteorological Organization show that the global average concentrations of carbon dioxide, or CO2, and nitrous oxide, or N2O, reached record levels last year and are expected to increase even further this year, said Geir Braathen, a climate specialist at the Geneva-based agency. “There is no sign that N2O and CO2 are starting to level off,” Braathen said Friday at the global bodys European headquarters. “It looks like it will just continue like this for the foreseeable future.” The concentration of carbon dioxide rose by about 0.5 percent last year to reach 379.1 parts per million, according to the agency. Nitrous oxide has totaled 319.2 parts per billion, which is 0.19 percent higher than in 2004. Levels of methane, another so-called greenhouse gas, remained stable since last year, Braathen said. Water vapor is the most common greenhouse gas, followed by CO2, N2O — produced by natural sources as well as fertilizers, tree burning and industry — and methane — produced by wetlands and other natural and human processes. There is 35.4 percent more carbon dioxide since the late 18th century primarily because of human burning for fossil fuels, the WMO statement said.
Tokyo and Bangkok, Thailand, Mar 19, 2008 - (ACN Newswire) - Ube Industries, Ltd. (TSE: 4208) and Mitsubishi Corporation (MC; TSE: 8058) have been jointly developing a project to reduce nitrous oxide (N2O) in Thailand. After receiving approval from the Japanese government last August 2, official approval from the Thai government was confirmed on 27 February. This CDM[1] project, which reduces N2O in the production of caprolactam (a raw material used to make nylon 6[2] is being undertaken at a plant of Thai Caprolactam Public Co., Ltd. (TCL), an UBE subsidiary in Thailand. This is the worlds first CDM project for the abatement of N2O gas arising from the manufacturing process of caprolactam. It is also the first CDM project in the industrial (chemical) sector approved by the Thai government, and the first CDM project UBE has participated in. N2O is a greenhouse gas formed as a by-product at caprolactam plants. It is a contributor to global warming. The aim of this project is to reduce the amount of N2O released in producing caprolactam, and gain approximately 170,000 (CO2 ton equivalent) Certified Emission Reduction (CER) credits per year from July 2008 onward, by means of the catalytic abatement plant set up by TCL. Meanwhile, MC plans to sell the emission reduction credits obtained through this project to companies aiming to meet their own emission requirements. 1) Project name: Catalytic N2O Abatement Project in the tail gas of the Caprolactam production plant in Thailand

Introduction The role of surgery in diabetic foot disease is mainly restricted to managing the complications of advanced disease in the neuropathic or ischaemic foot. Little had been written about coaching for youth with AD/HD, and the focus on youth coaching was centered on academics. Academic and educational coaches were available to students needing support, with a strong recommendation of academic coaching for struggling students with AD/HD and learning disabilities. Help4ADD@HighSchool (Nadeau, 1998) was one of the first books to discuss AD/HD coaching on a larger scale, reaching beyond simply academic coaching. In her book, Dr. Nadeau states, “Coaching is one of the best ways to deal with your ADD. A coach provides external structure and support, and teaches [you] how to develop your own internal structure” (p. 62). Coaching helps children and teens with AD/HD with several key challenges they face. First, coaching helps a child/teen learn techniques for maintaining focus, stay on task, and improve time management and organizational skills. The development of these skills can contribute to smoother family life and improved school performance. These skills are also the building blocks for future success. Second, by initiating the coaching process with school-aged children, coaches are able to help students with AD/HD avoid frustration and keep motivated, as well as help them build self-confidence and self-awareness during the formative years. Third, most children benefit from daily routines and structures, and building structure and predictability through routines is an effective tool for parents of challenging children with AD/HD (Heininger Weiss, 2001). Yet, routines can be difficult for the child with AD/HD to maintain, and a busy parent can easily be thrown off a routine when a child has AD/HD. Additionally, many parents of children and teens with AD/HD have attentional issues themselves and find it difficult to keep up with a plan on a daily basis. With the support of a well-trained AD/HD coach (IAAC, 2007), effective structure and routines can be developed and sustained, facilitating the consistency that allows children with AD/HD and related behavioral issues to thrive. This can be done with support, care, and humor to protect and build the self-esteem of everyone involved.
